Statue of Liberty

The History

Statue of liberty is a statue sent to the United States of America from France for America's 200th birthday. The government of France built a statue that resembles a woman who seems like she is walking towards freedom with a torch and a book in her hands. The French made the statue out of copper, and the statue was in a copper color. However, it changed into a sea green color due to the reaction with acid rain. A fun fact is that if you travel to France, you can see a minature version of the Statue of Liberty, called,"La Liberté éclairant le monde"
